Mariel seemed to post a reply on Twitter, writing: "If another person’s 'misfortune' pleases you, it just shows how insecure and unhappy you are with your life. It’s okay, maybe one day you’ll be truly happy? I’m sending you good vibes and prayers!"

On Tuesday (November 14, 2017), the most awaited beauty contest “Miss International 2017” was held in Tokyo, Japan and was participated by beauty contestants from different countries all around the world.

The Filipina celebrity Mariel de Leon, the daughter of the veteran actor Christopher de Leon and Sandy Andolong was the bet of the Philippines in the international beauty contest.

She had previously been vocal about issues such as the killings in the drug war and fake news, about which she also had a social media spat with Communications Asec. Mocha Uson.

It looks like the social media sniping between Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and Miss International-Philippines Mariel De Leon won't be ending anytime soon.

Sara fired the first shot earlier this week, saying she had a "schadenfreude moment" after Mariel bowed out early in the Miss International pageant in Japan.

In an apparent reference to Mariel's recent tweets, Inday Sara posted a photo on Instagram of herself in a swimsuit, along with a tirade about a beauty queen who lost.

"At take note, pareho tayo mataba, wala ka lamang jan. Juicekow. Di kami insecure at unhappy, that’s your freudian slip about your schadenfreude moments. Nase-schadenfreude lang kami kasi we are born pala-away, lalo na kapag inuunahan kami. Nakita mo yung kadami ng camera sa SMX, lahat yun recording with your comments and you making faces. Binanatan din niya ang mga Duterte Diehard Supporters.
“I gave my all and I know I did amazing, therefore I have no regrets! I know I can do better than 90% of ignorant and hopeless supporters of war-happy president. To God be all the glory!” ayon sa post de Leon.

Ipinahayag din ni De Leon na siya ay kumikita sa pamamagitan ng mga blind Duterte supporters nang hindi nila nalalaman.
